I had been looking forward to this however as other reviewers have said on a cold day there's so much steam that you can't see anything. Friends had been there in the summer and it was spectacular! We did walk the trail to the viewpoint...More

We stopped here on a cold morning and the view was limited. The fog rising from the spring is very dense and the walkway can be slippery if its snowed. You definitely want to pick a time when its clear and dry to get the...More

Wow just wow. So beautiful. We started off by walking on the boardwalks on the ground up to the spring (not much parking so had to park along the road) and the view from the boardwalk is pretty seeing the colours up close. However like...More

I am not a Nellie Naysayer, but after all the beautiful photos and wonderful recommendations, I have to admit that I was disappointed in the GPS. Don’t get me wrong, all of the thermal activity in YNP is amazing, but it was something of a...More

#1 Rule: Don't forget your camera, make sure your batteries are charged and that you have plenty of SD cards for your digital camera. The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest...More

These pools of steaming water are magnificent. You just need to go there to experience the colors, the smells, enormity etc. We live in such a beautiful and majestic country. So grateful to be an American.

There is a short uphill part of the trail but people of all ages were hiking the trail. It is not long at all, less than I mike I would guess. There are a couple of geysers along the way too so it feels like a short trip... More
