Wildlife, geysers, waterfalls & mountains covered with snow. So many things to see and do. We saw a coyote hunting for food which was a great interest to several people. Where we are from we see coyotes all of the time so we drove on...More
If you want to visit Yellowstone NP, you should evaluate carefully the period when you want to visit: I'm sure in summer it's overcrowded with tourists, so I decided to visit in early October - I managed to visit only about half of it only....More
This is an interesting place and if you're lucky you can see a lot of wild life. When we visited in Oct 19, we saw plenty of bison and deer but only 2 bears and 1 Elk still it was fantastic to have got the...More
and well worth the effort it took to get there; there are so many facets to this park and so amazing in all areas, it would be pleasing to anyone who visited. I wasn't up for a lot of hiking which there is a ton...More
We took a trip out west and spent 2 days/nights at Yellowstone. Old Faithful did not disappoint! It is such an amazing spectacle. Also all of the other features of the park just must be seen. I would stay at Old Faithful Inn or Cabins...More
I Visited here from the UK as I wanted to see the ruggedness of the land and the wild life. I had completed a road trip through the Rockies 3 years ago and thought that was really good, but it was nothing compared to this....More

Despite the title of my review I did greatly enjoy the experience but it was slightly let down by the vast amount of road works taking place especially around the Fishing Bridge area which took away one hour from my sightseeing plans. It is a...More

There are hotels that allow pets, along the way from Ohio to Yellowstone, i'm sure you know that and that you should check with each hotel. At Yellowstone pets are not allowed on most trails, especially those that are risk for encountering bears or other aggressive animals. I've seen pets on leashes (or carried) at some park roadside stops where you only have to walk a short distance from your car and where you are unlikely to encounter wildlife. I also saw animals left in cars/RVs in parking areas with windows cracked. I personally recommend only doing so in a vehicle with A/C left running (Yellowstone is mostly temperate, so use judgement in whether to leave a pet unattended in a vehicle.....just remember, temps at altitude are deceptive and while cool and pleasant outside, temps can reach unacceptable levels just as quick or quicker than at sea level inside a vehicle because of the intensity of UV rays at altitude; I tend to burn easily and and almost always get a sunburn quicker above 5 thousand feet where UV rays are more intense if I don't use adequate sunscreen and head covering).
Bottom line.....you can let your pet enjoy a few brief outside encounters at Yellowstone visitor centers and heavy tourist traffic areas but the reality is that most of the park is off limits to pets for their and your safety.
