Visited the Elms after The Breakers and preferred it as it seemed more homely and comfortable. Fabulously presented and thank goodness it was saved from ruin and disposal. Well worth visiting and you certainly won't be disappointed. Highly recommended

Loved this mansion as well as the grounds. So much history here. Beautiful inside and out. Must have been surreal to have lived here in the summer.

Lovely Mansion audio tour. The gardens were just as special and relaxing. If you don't tour the gardens, you'll miss seeing the fancy stables out back. If you have time, take the extra Servant Life Tour because it was great and discounted if you have...More

We bought a membership to the Preservation Society so we could see as many of the mansions as we could. This one was not a disappointment!

MY wife and I only went thru 4 of the mansions but we both found this one our favorite. Beautiful not over the top. Make sure you DO NOT MISS this one if you only have time for a couple.

Another must-see when visiting Newport. The grounds were amazing, as was the interior. The audio tour was great. Download the "Newport Mansions" app, and bring you headphones to listen to the tour with your smartphone.

The Elms has tied with the Breakers as my favorite gilded-age mansion. It is immensely impressive while giving a feeling of livability that the other Newport mansions don't have. This is a must see.

I last reviewed the Elms in June 2012. It is not a warm and charming home and I would not like to live here. However, today I looked at it as a museum. And as a museum, it is awesome. We also did the Behind...More

We chose to tour the house from the perspective of the help. It was incredibly interesting! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and his comments added to the experience. I am glad we went.

It is hard to believe that this beautiful property was nearly pulled down - what a tragedy it would have been. The house is stunning and the grounds are beautiful. The colours of the house when you look at the external vista are greens, pinks...More

Three separate mansions. All three are included in the one ticket five mansion tour price. Well worth the price. I would not try to do three mansionsin one day...too much to tour and see. Also I would definitely recommend... More
