So many trails at this park. I have only done one yet and it was steeper than I thought it would be. Wanted to see the most water in the shortest amount of time so there was a little work involved, but the group of...More

Discovery Park is another urban gem where the forest blocks out vestiges of the city. The loop trail provides forest and sound views. There is a connector trail that leads to the beach. There is plentiful parking in three lots.

I have lived in Seattle since 1989 and have spent MANY hours at Discovery Park exploring the wooded trails, the wide open meadows, and the beaches at low tide. Go when the tide is extra low to find geoducks, cockles, moon snails, and the occasional...More

My ideal vacation is hiking or rappelling. I headed to Seattle and did all the typical touristy stuff. Day 3, I had to get out of the city. Discovery Park was a recommendation so that I didn't have to drive 2 hours. LOVED IT. The...More

A great place for a quiet break from city sightseeing. The weather was just beautiful when we visited, and the beach is perfect for shell hunting and enjoying the views.

The lighthouse was everything I wanted it to be. Super cool park but didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted!

There are multiple entrances and hikes you can take. Parking can be challenging. If you take the loop all the way around you will come to a lighthouse with a beautiful view of the surrounding water. Easy way to hop out of the main city...More

We had a car. I would have used Uber if not. It's well worth a visit. Enjoy!

My experience is that the trail mostly follows the road with a defined bike path (both directions) on one side of the street. The road from the Fremont/Ballard area in the direction of the park (Gilman Avenue W) is uphill... More

Yup, lots of parking, but it's a ways to the beach if you are interested in that. Also, right when you get to the beach there is a sign that says NO DOGS, which is a bummer if you have one. However, I have noticed that there... More
