This seemed to be where real New Orleanians gather to listen to live music and grab a drink. We went on a Saturday night and loved it.

Take a walk to the Frenchmen street during the daytime to see all the nice buildings with interesting history, and enjoy the dinner with live music in the evening. Much more quiet and enjoyable than Bourbon street

Lots of local jazz music and quite a treat. we walked here after dinner, listening to the various places with their live music and then to the little art area where you can get some cool things as well

Great food, drinks and music on one small block. Just down from bourbon street, but not as crowded. Good array of Louisiana music. Go from zydeco to jazz in just 60 seconds!

Frenchmen street the place to go for a collection of bars and restaurants that offer old style New Orleans music from the early afternoon to late in the evening. The place where musicians go to play.

Great place to hear local musicians. Music was in the air. Bars and locals were kind and friendly. Drinks were well made and a great chance to drink local IPA

A visit to the Frenchmen Street section will put you right in the middle of the better jazz venues in the city. It would be hard to find a restaurant without good live music and food to match.

Just east of the French Quarter, this is a great street to find authentic jazz music. Just walk from one end to the other, beginning at Decatour street and pause outside each club to see if the music speaks to you. If so, stop in...More

We ate and listened to a set of jazz at Snug Harbor. Maybe call there and ask. I don’t remember seeing children, but since it’s a restaurant too that might help.
