Best part of this tour is learning abut Jim Williams and all he did to save as many old historical mansions as he could in Savannah. You see the 1st floor only on the tour, it is gorgeous, but likely similar to the many homes...More

I'll be honest, I didn't read the book, but the tour of this home was amazing. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of every detail of the history and contents of this beautiful mansion, and incorporated pieces of Savannah history into the stories he told. The...More

Mercer Williams House Museum is a MUST... a true museum, not just a restored mansion. Jim Williams made lasting treasures all through this beautiful home. It is a MUST DO on your tour list.

Thank you so much. I'm happy that you enjoyed your tour!

Took the tour because of the "Book" and outside of that if you don't know anything about it, the house is very fascinating with the art and other things collected by Jim Williams and the architecture.

I don't understand why some of these places won't let you take photos. It's not like we had a DSLR and set up to take professional photos. The tour was ok. It think it was overpriced for what you got. They are clearly banking on...More

We weren't prepared for what we experienced. You can't get the full experience from the exterior. Such a grand, beautiful home, full of history and antiques.

I really didn't enjoy this tour. I actually thought it was very boring. The leader was ok. I thought it would be more to it .👎

Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews of the Mercer Williams House Museum before touring last week. This place is a total rip off and not worth paying $12.50 to tour. There was nothing in this run-down house to wow me. Please read the other...More

I'm sorry you were disappointed.

Our tour guide did a great job filling us in on the home's history and architecture. The work Williams did and his collection are noteworthy, the stories about him are fabulous! Definitely worth the time to see.

As others have said, this is a "limited to one floor and a small garden" tour with no photos allowed. We were told that the descendants of Jim Williams have the sole rights to any images of the house and garden and that is why...More

Also...I was there Thursday, June 13, 2019. An elderly gentleman, long time resident of Savannah, was the tour guide. He is fabulous! Ask him anything about Savannah history or the Mercer house history - he knows it all!

There is only a guided tour. Parking can be tight in the city, so I would recommend Uber and/or walking.
