We did the Hop On Hop Off Uptown tour on Friday, October 11th. It was the sorriest excuse of a tour I have ever been on. It actually got scary because the bus driver REFUSED TO OPEN THE DOORS AND LET PEOPLE OFF UNTIL THEY...More
We went on the bus 5 times. Depending on your guide depends on your enjoyment.
We had three great guys and two bad reps. Daniel was the best he drove and commentated really knew his stuff and was a lovely guy. We had a Chinese...More
We bought three day tickets for the hop on/off bus in NYC. We had seen Grayline buses a lot on the street coming into the city. Our hotel recommended them as well. Most times we didn’t have any issue locating a bus to get on....More
There weren't guides on all of the trips and of those that did have them only Tom on the Brooklyn Tour and Nathan on the boat trip were any good. The others were either just rambling on about nothing except lots of dates or we...More
So, the tour for us began at the end, Rockefeller Center. The driver let us on, went 2 minutes down the road and stopped informing us that this was the last stop. The first of many issues. We had to get of and join the...More
We booked a top 6 tour and found it to be a very good tour value. It was convenient to get on and get around to the sights. The tour guides were informative too. I found myself looking upwards, hoping to see Spiderman swinging overhead!...More
Did the Uptown hop on hop off. Was left at Harlem stop bus drove right pass us and that was last bus. Called customer service and was told there was nothing they could do. Had to take a Lyft back to hotel which cost me...More
We did this spur of the moment and I’m so glad we did. It goes all around the perimeter of Central Park. You can hop on & off anytime and there will be another bus every 15 minutes. It is a great introduction to the...More
You can get on and off these busses. Very good experience. You want to sit up top-watch for street signs and stop lights. This open air tour is awesome we had an actual guide on our tour bus who was narrating as we went good...More
Very hot, no air-conditioning downstairs, sound system was terrible, had to get off and wait for a new bus under the Brooklyn Bridge! Saw things at a different level as toy rode by famous NYC landmarks!
The night tour takes off from the area of 8th Avenue and 42nd street near Times Square. It took about an hour and a half, it goes through Chinatown and over the bridge into Brooklyn then returns it leaves every 15 minutes... More
The night tour takes off from the area of 8th Avenue and 42nd street near Times Square. It took about an hour and a half, it goes through Chinatown and over the bridge into Brooklyn then returns it leaves every 15 minutes from the stop. It didn't have any stops where you can get on and off like the day time tours. We took the subway to Queen's to watch a baseball game in the evening and came back around 10 at night, it was very than the Uber we took that got stuck in traffic.

We went on the Gray Line for a lovely tour of the city after sunset. It was great! The catch is that we do not recommend buying a pass in order to use these buses for reliable transportation. I would just go for a sunset tour. We waited in line for about 30 minutes so that we could ride on the top level for the beautiful view. I don’t think that any printed timetable would be reliable because you would never know how long your wait would be. We walked and used the subway. Both of these modes were great!
