Went on the ferry but it was running late which was difficult as we were on a restricted time limit. View of statue was great however.

This is my go-to for seeing the Statue of Liberty. To me this is the best way and takes the least amount of time. Just make sure you catch the ferry on off-peak times. And you have to get off on the Jersey side and...More

Took the free ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island and back. One must alight and board the next ferry for the return trip. Good views from the deck.

We took the free ferry to Staten Island and back, for the view of the Statue of Liberty. The ride was fine but the ferry was dirty.

Took the ferry, great way to see another view of the city as you leave the city and return once again. From the ferry I was able to see both the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.

This is a FREE ferry ride that takes you right past the beautiful state of Liberty. We go each time we are in NYC with family.

Great free way to see Statue of Liberty and New York skyline. Takes an hour round trip and you board in a massive group but it is a nice ride, especially if you need a calm activity.

In order to get unrestricted views, you should try and be on the top deck or by the side of the ferry.
