The environment is perfect to do a picnic with your loved ones. The park was clean and accommodating. Lots of benches to sit on and a lovely fountain.

Lots of people congregate here to enjoy each other's company, live free music, various sports activities. The arch is iconic. The surroundings are the essence of romantic 19th Century NYC.

The park itself is pretty good. Nice green space and normally full of activities of some sort. The main reason for 5 stars is because this area is one of my favorites. NYU is here and that means affordable and tasty dining, eclectic activities and...More

The archway and fountains are really nice, and the park is well maintained with lovely greenery. Great place to pass the time and close to lots of coffee shops.

Pleasant park with a lot of space and people! Much prefer being here than in Bryant park, you actually get a feel that you’re in a park and not surrounded by skyscrapers in a downtown core.

Washington square park is very cool to visit around the holidays. There is a huge Christmas tree up and everyone seems so cheerful. Also if you have a little bit of food you can feed the squirrels- they were really friendly! Not a major tourist...More

What a fabulous park!! So busy though -with street entertainers, people sitting in the grass relaxing, people sitting at tables playing chess. Just a really chilled vibe & of course the Washington Arch. A very iconic landmark. Great place in a great neighbourhood

I enjoyed my short visit to this park. It is very popular. The fountain is beautiful. It is great for people and dog watching. Artists sell their goods. Performers put on shows in the park.

Nice to walk through on a hot day to get some shade. Nothing very special but cute. There are some chess tables if you like to play chess. Nice plants and flowers.

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
