Well if you want to shop for fresh vetagable, flowers, fish etc this market is for you. We purschased some gluten free pastries and they were delisious.

You see it all here whether it be stuffy folks to the homeless. There are a number of nice shade trees and some benches to watch the world go by.

Historically this was a park where union members and labor activists had their assemblies and protests. Now it is another one of the areas of great prosperity, fabulous restaurants and bars, nice green space, splendid architecture. Definitely work a visit.

Packed into every square foot is something wonderful. The green space, accompanied by all of the park-like landscaping is relaxing. It is a vibrant area consisting of the various arts and open-air market.

We happened upon Union Square by accident whilst walking back to our hotel. It was a Saturday and there was a fantastic local market being held, mainly food and plants , real buzz about the place.

I personally think Union Square is too far from the Freedom Tower and 911 to walk to. Central Park is even further away. In either case you'll be most likely using the subway or taxi. Central Park is close to the Museum... More
