I nice area of shops and restaurants near the Brooklyn Bridge and Battery Park. A good choice if you want to spend the day in Lower Manhattan and want to grab lunch or dinner.

It's a neat part of town with several piers that give you a nice view over the Brooklyn Bridge but other than that there isn't a ton to see in that area. It's more shops/restaurants oriented.

Loved walking around south street seaport on our recent trip to New York City. Tons of great restaurants and shops. We also took a ferry out of the port and really enjoyed it. Much cooler than taking the train

If a visitor wishes to not be amongst the noise and hustle and bustle of Times Square and truly see a real part of NYC, this is the location. I highly recommend to visit and stay in this area.

We stopped at the Garden Bar after taking a Circle Line cruise. Tasty but pricey drinks, and great people watching.
