OMG what cna I say, I love this place. One of my all time favorites to see films. Yes it's an old fashion "movie house" well kept.

Came to the Casto hoping to get a glimpse inside the theater. No such luck. Took a picture of the iconic outside. Did some people watching.

This is still a beautiful full size theatre not cut into parts like so many others. Most unique is that films are frequently preceded by a pipe organist who performs on their incredible pipe organ before the films. The organ and organist rise from beneath the...More

Watched once upon a time in Hollywood while it was showing - more to experience the iconic Castro theatre than to see the film itself. Tickets $22 for 2 adults, good range of refreshments. Comfy seats. Overall a great experience!

The movie preview consists of a rousing performance on the pipe organ. The screen is big, the crowd is smart and appreciative. Not to be missed.

The last time I had the pleasure of going to this theatre was when they had a special showing of Beauty and the Beast and gave our treat bags with crowns, etc. It was a sing along and was so incredibly much fun --- even...More

I enjoyed this space during the Lesbians Who Tech conference. It is definitely a great place to take photos. Every seat in the house is a good seat.

The place is an average building. However you'll like the ambiance and the variety of movies here. Thank you!

The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San
Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart,
the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As
one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in
the United States and currently its largest, it
remains one of the epicenters of activism in the
nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete
with bars and fashionable eateries for attention,
