Fun walking around the quaint streets of Chinatown. Lots of shops to browse and great authentic Chinese restaurants. Wonderful jewelry stores with fine pieces of jade and exceptional gold jewelry.

Really felt like you were somewhere else the decoration the shop windows to the people. Didn’t see so many tourists around and so many shops selling Chinese produce. Nice to explore and certainly felt very safe in the day but nothing special.

Great place to walk and explore. Lots of shops with all kinds of jewelry, souvenirs, and jade! Interesting people too. Watch prices...some items are cheaper than others at different shops!

On any given trip to San Francisco, setting aside time to explore Chinatown is time well spent. I have found it far more interesting to veer into the side streets and alleys than spending effort, time and money on Grant Ave. Indeed. I recommend taking...More

gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or
