This beach is worth checking out on a windy day to watch the wind surfers (or to wind surf yourself if you are into that) or to check out all the turtles who come up on the beach here. This is not a great beach...More

We visited the lookout to watch the windsurfers and surfers. It is a magnificent view. I would suggest you take a chair and snacks so you can spend a lot of time there. Wish we had. You can also go down to the beach and...More

Our tour guide pulled in and told us how there might be turtles down on the beach. There were! They were pretty huge too. It was amazing to see them up close.

Lava formation rocks into the water...not a lot of sand but a different type of shoreline compared to the large, sandy beaches.

Stopped at the park to watch the surfers. Took photos of surfers & surrounding rugged beach. Very impressive view. Worth stopping to look. Or can go surfing.

Very nice & scenic but it was very crowded. We stayed at the upper parking lot. There were surfers in the water that were fun to watch.

Come later in the day and the chances are very good that you’ll see turtles coming, going, and hanging out on shore.

At the main beach (and parking lot) we saw 35 to 40 sea turtles exiting the ocean and sunning on the beach. Tend to gather in the northeast corner, roped off to keep people away; close enough to watch and photo. Best viewing after 4...More

Sorry, we were there only briefly—just to see the green sea turtles so I did not use any of their restrooms or bathroom facilities.

Turtles are there all day long. They haul out onto the beach to rest. If you don’t see them, take another look at the boulders strewn all over- those are turtles!
