A beautiful place to visit. At a first glance, it looks not so beautiful as the boat departs, but as the canyons show up by the landscape, you can't help taking pics. However, an unpleasant sight of garbage floating around comes up at some point,...More

It was a great view throughout the trip. Very impressive river. What is not very attractive is having to wait for enough people to be able to get a boat. It does not matter how early you arrive to avoid the rush, you need at...More

It was a very rushed trip, any wildlife we saw, was not pointed out or even explained. As somebody else said there was one crocodile which not everybody saw, maybe it wasn't real! a couple of monkies who the guide knew exactly where they'd be....More

If you are near the place, or traveling Chiapas I recommend you take this trip. There are a lot of “embarcaderos” all of them charge the same. Cost: 230 pesos (around 12 dlls) per person. Kids get charged by their high (add pic) They give...More

Our group took a one-hour private boat trip into the Canyon. I must say that was just long enough. There are some spectacular views and we saw some crocs and a few monkees. I enjoyed the lunch afterwards with the view on the river more...

Riding through this spectacular canyon was an exceptional experience. We saw birds and a crocodile family, as well as the towering cliffs above.

The boat ride was hot, bumpy and boring. The “ explanation” in Spanish only. The scenery is uninspiring, the one sad crocodile was sitting on top of garbage and thousands of discarded plastic bottles were strewn all along the shore. We left feeling depressed about...More

In the hotel we stayed we were told that the first boat was at 8:30am. Didn't confirmed this information. We took the 10am boat.

I want to take a boat ride through the canyon and also go to the lookout points. My plan is to get the boat ride there at the dock (not a prepackaged tour) but then how would I go to the lookout points? I imagine that you must drive between each point? Are there buses that drive to each lookout point? Or can I walk it? Or perhaps rent a car? If I do rent a car, is there a good place to park while on the boat ride?

I would just take the boat ride. It's part of all the tours that run from SCC, it's cheap, it's easy and the views are amazing. The walls of the canyon are so high in places that I can't imagine that there's an easy way of... More
