My partner and I camped at Curtis Creek campground and explored Pisgah a bit with a couple of short hikes. The forest itself is beautiful and peaceful. We drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few miles, but it was REALLY foggy, so no...More
Pisgah was not our destination, but we went out of our way to drive through it. We are so glad we did! We were compelled to stop at the many turn-offs to walk down to the water and enjoy the cool mountain air.
We stopped at the Ranger Station which has wonderful displays and very knowledgeable and helpful rangers. There are numerous hiking trails and camp sites are available. The forest itself is worth the trip.
We did a few hikes in Pisgah. We loved the Moore Cove Falls hike. It was pretty easy and lots of beautiful scenery. We were able to climb around to the top side of the falls ---making the hike even more fun.

We did Catawba falls with our dog and there were a lot of people bringing kids or carrying them. It is a very doable walk in the mountains with a beautiful waterfall at the top. Looking glass falls is right in pisgah and is on the road with no hiking required but is also pretty.
