Lots of fun to hike in, especially if you are up in the mountains and its 10-15 degrees cooler than down in Asheville!

We stopped at the Ranger Station which has wonderful displays and very knowledgeable and helpful rangers. There are numerous hiking trails and camp sites are available. The forest itself is worth the trip.

We did a few hikes in Pisgah. We loved the Moore Cove Falls hike. It was pretty easy and lots of beautiful scenery. We were able to climb around to the top side of the falls ---making the hike even more fun.

Pisgah Forest has lots to do, from waterfalls, to sliding rock to the Cradle of Forestry. Moore Falls is a nice 20 minute hike to a spectacular waterfall you can walk behind. Lots of pull outs for picnic lunches

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to experience the forest on foot, but what an awesome drive. When the scenery is this beautiful, at points it was hard to keep your eyes on the road. Next time I’m in the area, will definitely plan to...More

Some trails on Grandfather Mtn. Have ladders that Dodd couldn’t do unless they are small enough to carry. Otherwise a 6’ leash is needed. The bears are especially active this year.
