Although we have been to New Orleans many times, this was the first plantation tour we've done. We chose Destrehan because it is the closest to New Orleans, 20-30 minutes from the French Quarter. We had a great tour guide, whose stories brought the place...More

This was an amazing tour. We found having an informative, friendly and helpful guide in Judy. It was humbling to see the history of a time that was an embarrassment to our nations. Many thanks for a great tour. Darren and Tamasin

Highlight of our trip to NOLA was a day in Plantation and city tour with Michaela's Private tours. Plantation tour is a must! The overall experience is amazing; understanding the history and all it's implications; the living conditions and quarters as well as the oaks...More

The plantation house was refurbished but most of the original construction was saved. The guided tour and video were excellent. It was an interesting and hard hitting review of work and life on such an establishment prior to the American Civil War.

Beverly was a fantastic hostess for our time at the Plantation. She is informative and knowledgable and delivered the information with respect, finesse and humour. An absolute asset to the Plantation. Only four stars as I resented HAVING to go through the gift shop to...More

As a New Orleans native, we forget to enjoy the sightseeing that is so close to us. Our visiting friends encouraged us to go visit the plantations so nearby that we take them for granted.

This tour was very very interesting. Our tour guide, Frank, dressed the part and went back through the history of this plantation. He went as far as to go back to French and Spanish history with this family and how it all played into the...More

Not at all. Our tours begin every 30 minutes. You can purchase your ticket that day in the plantation store. Even if you purchase in advance and cannot make it. We give a 100 percent refund.
