I found out about this activity through TripAdvisor and am so glad I did (I even printed out one review and followed exactly what they did for the same lovely experience!). First of all, don't assume there's only one boat going out to Quimixto--there are...More

This is a small fishing village just a 15 minute boat ride from Boca de Tomatlan. The route to the falls is complicated so ask for directions - a 30 minute hike from the beach, a dusty hike but not too strenuous. Getting off the...More

Quimixto is so great. You feel like you are on a secluded beach. It’s so relaxing, no vendors and will make for a great day! We rode a bus to Boca and caught the water taxi into Quimixto for 80p. When we got off at...More

We stayed at Xinalani retreat and hiked from there, passing through the town of Quimixto on the way. We got to see the kids at the local school out at recess and chatted with them. It’s a fairly simple hike on dirt paths, roads and...More

An excellent trip - just enough of everything - horse ride to the waterfall, snorkeling and lunch on the beach. Alex, our guide, and Jenny, photographer, and Captain Junior were the awesome! The trail to the waterfall on horse was narrow and the local help...More

I've gone to the waterfall twice on a paid excursion and once on my own. It's NOT difficult on your own, more enjoyable, and much cheaper. So if you're willing to do the adventure, read on! Take city bus or Uber to Boca de Tomatlan,...More

I enjoyed the 30 to 45 min hike to the cascades falls. It was quite a workout ascending in the rainforest. I walked liked the locals barefoot, but swim shoes is a plus in Puerto Vallarta. This adventure had three rivers and a creek to...More

A gorgeous little village, horseback riding up narrow, winding canyons to a gorgeous waterfall, where we were able to sit, relax, enjoy a couple of cold Coronas, some out-of-this-world chips, salsa and guacamole. Our guides were very friendly; the town was really beautiful, and the...More

So my fiancee and I did the Quimixto trip - I must admit I am a little jaded on purely tourist attractions - and I am old enough to have been at far more exciting and spectacular waterfalls. The trip up the narrow trail on...More

Great day trip from PV, if you want to see a bit of "authenticity" and not a plastic tourist experience. We took a water taxi, which can be a bit choppy, but well worth the effort. Once we arrived we walked around the sleepy town,...More

Yesterday while on the beach we scheduled a private panga rental seven of us in the group came out $40 an hour. We can go anywhere we want even bring our own food and drinks. A great deal imo.
