We enjoyed 3 tours: Grand, Upstairs, and Cottages; guide Donnel was a favorite. Every tour includes the movie; I recommend seeing the movie before your tour. The grand tour allows about 40-people, if you want the others book early because they sell out and allow...More

Tour guide was very rude. My wife wasn’t feeling well, I explained this to the him, he totally ignored me, and proceeded with the tour. Absolutely incredible levels of arrogance, rudeness and reckless lack of concern for the safety of their guests.

It's a very interesting place full of medieval staff, really very impressive. First impresiion is wow, but you look closely it's over the top, too much of everything. Very rich and eccentric castle with,I'd say, lack of taste.

We took the Cottages and Kitchen Tour and Great Rooms Tour. Enjoyed them both very much. Both our Tour Guides were very knowledgable and well spoken. Beautiful architectural buildings and grounds. I was especially taken with the swimming pools, outdoor and indoor. Beautiful! Fascinating man,...More

My wife and I decided that our first visit to Hearst Castle would be the evening tour. At first we were in awe of the outdoor surroundings but when we went indoors, - the Castle and the surrounding buildings seemed to come to life. There...More

An amazing American success story. Beautiful. Do not miss this. We've visited much of Europe several times and the history of this American Castle is so interesting. Before you visit, there is a 45 minute IMAX film that is free with your paid admission and...More

Cross this off the bucket list. Words can NOT do this work of art justice! We did the movie, grand room and bedroom tour. Worth every penny. This was a must stop on our drive from SF to LA.

This place is awesome. Its hard to believe without seeing in person just how grand and extensive it is. The grounds are beautiful and the tour is really well done.

She was mentioned in the Theater movie that goes with any Tour. She was also mentioned during the Grand Rooms tour but less so in the Cottages and Kitchen tour. Good luck and enjoy!

I'd arrive ten or fifteen minutes early. The tour time begins at the Visitor Centre so they'll call the 10.40am tour and corral you into an area prior to boarding the coach that takes you up to the castle. It's all run in... More
