I visited Al Bass Archaeological site earlier this year to discover ruins of past generations. This place still held the spirit of ancient times, the tombs, columns, graveyard, tiny hamams(washrooms) were still holding the smell of old times. It was very fascinating to walk around,...More

I had too high expectations, Tyre being one of the most famous ancient cities, but it was a nice place. There's lots of sarcophagi, some collumns, parts of a hippodrome, and this small gate, all close to the sea.

This is a wonderful site right by the sea. The variety of buildings is impressive, and it gives you a wonderful flavour of what Roman towns were like.

There are a variety of arches, and in particular one huge arch, I think was dedicated to Apollo, but in any case, that it has remained through to today is amazing.

The site was stunning, with hippodrome, grandstands, aqueduct, a huge Roman arch, a Roman Road and many sarcophagi but we had little information in our tourist guide and nothing was signposted. It was also a little tricky to get to, as we visited the Al...More
