Just for the avoidance of doubt, Petra is stunning, the Treasury is striking.....and all are best viewed in the day light. In comparison, Petra by night is a disappointing. There, I’ve said it. The reality does not live up to the promise. Save your energy...More

Wow, I loved it but be aware. After lining up you take a long walk in the dark to the Treasury. The walk can be tough for older folks. It can also be extremely dark which can a challenge for any body with limited viability....More

For how amazing Petra is, the Petra by Night show is a poorly orchestrated gimmick. Luckily I was there during the day while I marvelled at the various sites and got to see the setup for the Petra By night. But then the gates were...More

Opinions are divided about this as you’ll have seen from the wide spread of ratings. Some people do really love it so it’s important to be aware of that, but overall we were quite disappointed. The walk down the ravine to the “Treasury” was rather...More

Plenty of negative reviews - which after everyone settling in for the "show" - I understood why. So after taking in all the negative reviews, we still did it. We got our tickets as we exited the "park" at 7 30pm. Everyone lined up, with...More

When one is in Petra one generally doesn't give it a miss. It does look gorgeous at night. But considering the price of 17jd per head this 45 minute show seems to be bit overhyped.

Because our trip to Petra would be a once in a lifetime trip, we also went to Petra By Night. Warning: take a flashlight or use your phone for a flashlight unless you have young, good ankles! I am actually going back just one year...More

The 'Performance' consisted of a moderately accomplished musician on a penny whistle, followed by fifteen interminable verses of a dirge by an old man playing a one stringed fiddle badly. Just when we thought the main event would begin a single actor stood up in...More

So it costs 17 JD which is extortionate for what it is. I read the negative reviews saying don't waste your money, but I thought I have come all this way I want to see it for myself. Don't regret doing it and so glad...More

Reading these reviews, I can’t help but roll my eyes. My response is this: the unfortunate state of humanity at this time is that there are always going to be a number of self-centered, uncultured jerks at social gatherings such as this. The people who...More

Hi. I’m not a 100% sure, but I think it should be open. The Dead Sea will be accessible for sure, and Mount Nero is in essence a Christian place. Petra I’m not too sure of. Remember though that a large part of Jordan’s GDP... More
