It was fun to sit at the bar and drink beer watching people and planes. However, once you see one plane the excitement is pretty much over. so, just drink more beer. Oh, and the bar food was good especially the guacamole and chips.

Went to the beach to see the planes. Was unbelievable how close they were. Did get pelted with sand... Really not a joke broke the glass screen protector on phone.

Seems that the beach was rough. I think they laid down cement after the last hurricane to preserve the beach so it is very steep. Water was clean and clean can be. Go watch the planes. Don't stand close when they take off.

I’d never seen water this clear before. It was the most beautiful blue! I loved the beach; I live near an Air Force base, so I thought watching the planes landing periodically was cool.

Check the flight schedule before you go. If there aren't any big planes coming in while you're there, don't bother. Literally every single one of the transportation staff at the port is extremely rude. They treat you like crap and cram at least 18 of...More

The world famous Maho beach is known as a beach to watch the planes land, and it is. It’s also a great little beach to soak in the crystal clear Caribbean. Not too rough, just some minor waves and a sandy bottom. It gets 5...More

You are better off on your own and go to Maho Beach, if you want to experience the planes landing and taking off. This experience only happens on Maho Beach. The beach itself is not that good to me. There are better beaches... More

Yes, we used our iPhones too and we got some great shots/video. I also used a GoPro and as others have said, you don't really need a zoom!
