Wild Alaska at its best. Good hiking and kayaking. Virtually untouched by civilization. Best seen on a small boat.

Absolutely spectacular views. Waterfalls, Dall sheep, lakes, muskeg, fjords, landed on a fjord. Would recommend for anyone. $200 per person was well worth it for 2 hours.

We took a catamaran excursion through Misty Fjords. While the scenery was beautiful, it wasn't what I really expected especially after having seen fjords in Norway! These were really just tall, steep mountains. The highlight of our adventure was seeing a pod of Orca whales...More

Wonderful experience seeing the Fjord from air. Beautiful scenery and worth taking a float plane to see.

We did the "Misty fjords and wilderness explorer" tour. Although the scenery was certainly beautiful, we thought the tour was quite overpriced.

We saw Bald Eagles and a lone Gray Whale. It was so peaceful and calm. Wear layers and don’t forget a hat and gloves, even in August it was pretty chilly! This was the best excursion we had in three days! Highly recommend!

Truly a gorgeous national monument! Breathtaking! And we enjoyed seeing wildlife as well. The boat also had a nature guide and she was excellent and shared lots of interesting information.

Beautiful with hundreds of waterfalls. Price of the cruise was a little pricey, but they had a totem carver & a naturalist who explained the customs & the ecosystem.

When people on the mainland think of Alaska, I notice that often they think of glaciers. Of course there are glaciers, and I love seeing them, but the lower part of Alaska where most of us visitors go in the summer on cruise ships, is...More

Had a wonderful time exploring Misty Fjords National Monument by zodiac from our cruise ship. Nature pure! Saw bald eagles and harbor seals.

We were on Princess. No it could not be seen from Cruise Ship. It was a 50 minute ride out to see it and 50 minutes back. It was beautiful and awe inspiring. Hook up with a half day trip provider. It’s worth it.

I believe there is a visitor center located at 1515 Tongass in Ketchikan. You should be able to get your stamp there. If you are planning an air tour, I highly recommend Island Wings Air Service. If you are looking for a... More
