Lots of cool shops and restaurants, and as you branch off onto the numbered streets there's more to be found, but a lot are closed on weekends so keep that in mind when making travel plans

This street runs through alot of downtown and then over the famous bat bridge through South Congress. Lots of murals, old unique Austin shops, restaurants and bars, and music venues too of course. To me, it is no ordinary street, especially on South Congress past...More

If you get hungry after visiting Capitol this is a right direction to go. There are plenty restaurants and cafes but it is an ordinary busy street.

no particular reason to go there unless have to visit one of the offices. much more interesting shops and better restaurants or cafes on the south end of Congress

Must sea attraction in Austin. 6th Street for bars and weekend entertainment.Capitol view and other attractions. many week end programmes and rallies happens here. Nice and beautiful Downtown look

Great place to wander, shop, eat, drink , watch bats during their season of being there. Paid public parking lots. Friendly retailers and servers.

There were some good restaurants, but not as many good stores. There are an unusual amount of homeless people downtown. There seems to be a lot of drug use, and the homeless people try to engage and ask for money constantly. I didn't feel 100%...More

Watch bats on Congress ave bridge, Zilker Park,walk around town lake, there may be a street festival too

If you haven’t booked yet, stay st the Driskill. It is a beautiful and historic hotel.
