The old colonial town of Lima is beautiful with lots of wonderful historic buildings. It is well worth a visit and I would visit it again. It was the second visit for my wife and she would do it again.

Just like for the previous reviewer, the historic center of Lima was a pleasant surprise. There are beautiful colonial buildings around the Plaza de Armas, many wonderful churches (my personal favourite was Iglesia y Convento San Francisco), characteristic balconies... Narrow streets with a colonial Spanish flavour. Interesting buildings, Square and Cathedral. Beware of the persistent Street Traders. Midday, changing of the Guard at The Presidential Palace. Well worth seeing.

If the weather permits walk through the city center looking at the colonial buildings and compare with the modern more dirty times of ours. There is now a movement to restore the buildings and the walks that is making it better.

The old Spanish colonial buildings in the city are well worth a visit, well built and rebuilt after earthquakes, they are a testament to the craftsmanship of years fone by.
