We were in a group, our tour leader done our tour, it was a little too much information. I enjoy walking round myself with the booklet would have been fine. Fascinating history and peaceful place to spend an hour or so.

Not too expensive to visit and much larger than we expected with many rooms to explore inside. Best done with a guide as there are no information boards to explain anything.

Nice place to visit. You can go with or without guide. We did the tour without guide and walk around and explore. It is a mini city in the city of Arequipa with a lot of history. Beautiful colors and art.

If you are in Arequipa, the Monasterio is a MUST! Taking a guided tour is a great idea, because you'll get interesting information about the place, and will avoid getting lost (thebplace is big and you easily lose yourself in it). The colours, the atmosphere,...More

We paid 80/s for two people to enter the Monasterio and it was well worth it. We had a private tour guide who was proficient in English (they have all language guides available) named Alexandra who was fantastic. She guided us through the buildings explaining...More

It is so beautiful inside and they have a lot of text in every room about the history or architecture. They have guides (20 soles for the two of us) - nice to have an already agreed price. We didn’t use one though because you...More

I love this place, it's stunning. It really helps to get a guide for 20 soles to show you around and explain what everything is about. Be sure to have some extra time to wander around after you finish your guided tour.

This is the place where rich daughters went (many years ago) to become nuns but took all of their servants with them. Not overly exciting

It is my favourite museum in Arequipa. It's really beautiful with some interesting history behind it. Get a guided tour as it is well worth hearing the history behind it rather than just walking through it on your own
