Al Jalali Fort stands in old muscat and is 40 mins drive from Airport. This is a beautiful place with sea view.

It's a shame that this remarkable Portuguese fort is only open for state affairs and not made available to the general public. It is perfectly functional with remarkable views of the bay area.

Saw the Fort from ground level. I was told by a local who was showing us around that it isn't open. That is a shame as it would be a nice place to visit and I'm sure the view from up there would be amazing!
