I visited the reserve by myself with a mountain bike ; you’re always on the main road or on a very bumpy sand path RIGHT NEXT to the main road. Not enjoyable at all. 2 or 3 nice viewpoints in this place, nothing more.

Beautiful landscape, very surreal to see red barren sands meeting the ocean. Incredible photography opportunities from red salt to fossils, Martian landscapes to crashing ocean waves against beaches and interesting geology. Saw a condor feasting on the beach along with other shore birds. We took...More

Visited as part of s guided tour and was treated to a very spooky alien landscape. The coastal views are stunning and incorporated with local history is a worthy place to visit.

As far as I know you require a guide, it i also easy to get lost, there are many operators, best read reviews here.
