These gardens are beautiful, expansive and well maintained. Walking around gives one an opportunity to see all the beautiful trees, flowers and some fascinating birds including the black swans. Certainly very highly recommend visiting the same especially during evening time.
All the swans we have seen are black. No opportunity to get a decent photo of them, I am sorry to say. There are a lot of people enjoying the area playing bocce ball, water sports, and more. There is even a pontoon plane on the lake. I wish we had more time here.
A credit to the City of Rotorua. Spacious, well kept gardens with ample parking and facilities. The museum building is stunningly grand, but fenced off so no access which is a shame. Some geothermal activity in places, but commercialised somewhat in some areas. Play ground…
Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Rotorua. The gardens are very well kept and are stunning. You can also see some native birds, like pukekos, walking around the gardens at times.
Lovely grounds full of vibrant flowers. Has several hot springs. Bus tours stop for a short tour and photo ops.
