We really enjoyed our visit to El Meco. Obviously it’s not on the same scale as Tulum or Chichen Itza, but if your visit to Cancun doesn’t allow for an all-day trip to see those ruins, you should definitely carve out a few hours for...More
It is easy to reach with a collectivo, and it is a beautiful small site. The pyramid is very impressive. I wonder why people travel so far to see Mayan ruins when they are just around the corner in Cancun as well. The entrance fee...More
The site itself is smaller than some of the more well known sites but was still impressive. There is a pyramid and a truly fantastic tree growing among the ruins. When we went, there was only one other family there and it smelt like we...More
My partner and I took a taxi here after a short visit to Cancun from our hotel. It was well worth it. We were the only people there, apart from a gardener, and it was magical. Not a huge place and not a lot of...More

While my family and I visited in April of 2019 I researched the safest and least stressful way for us to get around Cancun. I used USA Transfers company and booked a private private ride time in one of their vans with a driver. He picked us up from our resort and took us to the ruins here and waited on premises for us. He also took us wherever else we wanted to go to within our time frame that we had booked with him.
You are able to take a taxi here, but I preferred the comfort of a well known/well reviewed business.
