We really enjoyed our visit to this museum. It is very well laid out; just enough information to be interesting but not overwhelming. We learned a lot about Icelandic history.
The exhibition is really one main underground room with the excavated longhouse in the centre. On the outside are artefacts and digital displays to provide the history. Interesting and impressive presentation but very limited and expensive.

We really enjoyed this exhibit showing what a Viking settler’s home was like a thousand years ago. Lots of interactive elements where you can discover facts about the building and the inhabitants. Friendly relaxed museum
A lovely small exhibition which will probably only take up about an hour of your time. Interesting how they found the settlement and interactive parts as you go around. A bit on the expensive side but I did manage to get a 15% discount by visiting their website and printing…
