Be sure to visit the Parthenon Acropolis museum close by. It's a fabulous museum, well designed and curated plus an added bonus of an old Roman town discovered under the building that you can also walk through. November is a good time of year to visit.

One cannot be in Athens without visiting Parthenon. It is true that the structure did not remain intact, but one can certainly imagine what was there in ancient times. Besides, the view from above is stunning!
