Pretty crowded-it was Saturday-hard to find parking but worth the effort. The views are breathtaking.

There was a very narrow beach, so no swimming for us. Shadowed picnic area. Good food by lake. Enjoyed the boat trip.

This is probably the neatest part of the entire 72 mile drive around Lake Tahoe. Inspiration Point has fantastic views and the mile or so hike to Vikingsholm built in 1929 by a rich heiress was well worth it. The Baldwin and Pope historic estates...More

Beautiful scenery. Variety of trails, but hiking up from Vikingsholm is definitely a challenge. Worth it, but not for anyone who can’t handle uphill at the end of the day. Get there early o the weekends to get a parking space!

Visited on a weekday, mid-morning and it was very crowded. More of a vista than a park. Almost saw a fight break out over a challenge to a parking spot—appeared to be no park supervision. My advice is to make the drive around the lake...More

Did a lunch Lake Cruise on the Safari Rose over to Emerald Bay. Absolutely lovely. Beautiful views while parked for an hour for lunch. Great pictures of Vikingsholm and the island tea house. Highly recommend.

Arriving from the mountainside you have a beautiful view over these blue waters. Even along the bay everything is neat arranged and looks beautiful. Nice place to spend some time!

I had expected emerald colored waters but maybe late it the day they are dark blue. From our perch high above near the road we could see the island in Emerald Bay that we had toured by cruise boat earlier. I only wish we had...More

Blue Tahoe lake water edging with Emerald at bay really soothing. clear view for miles together. Mountains on one side and water body on other. One can explore trek or water fall. Or simply enjoy nature walk.

My recommendation would be to either leave your bikes at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center or perhaps at Tallac Historic Site. I believe both of these locations have bike racks. There is also a wonderful big path from around... More
