This is a great drive to see lots of beautiful scenery. Many interesting places to stop along the way for photo ops. We saw it via a bus trip and I would recommend that to anyone. Check with Brewster Tours. And if you get to...More

Absolutely stunning to see and the weather turns so quickly in minutes backwards and forwards. Go to the foot of the glacier and stand in awe. Wrap up well because you are going to be awfully exposed out there it’s bleak.

Lovely place to stop along the Icefields Parkway but can be very crowded with tour groups at all times of the year. Very good observation spots but with a new snowfall in the fall differentiation of th3 glacier from snow was difficult.

A very unique experience: you get to take a cool vehicle to the glacier and spend some time walking on the glacier with some incredible views. The tour guides were all knowledgable, friendly and funny. It is quite expensive but definitely worth doing once, and...More

Our tour guide on the “monster” ice exploder waa Rusty and he was knowledgeable and humorous as he safely guided us onto the glacier—it is a marvel and the photos do not do it justice! We learned how the glacier waa formed and how it...More

While on our Rocky Mountaineer trip, one of the most exciting events was this glacier experience. Our guide was Captain Jack who drove the excursion vehicle. He was informative, funny, engaging and experienced. Captain Jack answered all questions, explained this ice field and glacier interaction...More

We didn’t stop and explore any of the ice field/glaciers, but the drive along the highway is quite breathtaking. There are several places to park & take pics or just take in the view. Not many bathroom possibilities and gas stations are few & far...More

Walking on a glacier is a rich and humbling experience. The more you know about glaciers, the more awe. Glaciers supply 70% of the world’s fresh water. And the Athabasca is one, receding at an alarming rate in global warming. Jack at the wheel of...More

Fun drive on to icefield on specially designed bus with fun driver commentary. Ice itself where we were able to walk was mushy, needing decent footwear/boots and it was loaded with passengers from other buses.

We had tickets in advance, so we got on the transport bus pretty quickly. From that moment until we returned to the Center, was one and one-half hours. Skywalk was closed the day we were there, so no help there.

If you're fit and mobile I strongly recommend doing the walking tour rather than the bus tour. It's the difference between walking 3km across the ice in a small group Vs getting on a packed bus and driving on the ice to... More
