Quite touristy as you would expect but pleasant to walk around and not overly expensive. Nice atmosphere around the town and good eateries.

Worth a visit even in the height of the summer season. It is beautiful to walk along a busy high street and see the views. Specially in the evening. But we were lucky enough to stay at the Mount Royal on Banff Avenue in September...More

Aside from that - Banff Ave still has some of the best - but has become more like aspen. If you want a more realistic mountain experience - drive the parkway to Jasper and back - see the ice fields (glacier) - enjoy.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful streets! The mountains all around are so gorgeous. There are many shops and restaurants in only a few streets, all on the public bus routes.

Depends on the wind. When we were there, no smoke in Banff, although the mountains were obscured.
