If you are a tourist and you've never known this place this is ok, it could be part of the different places you should visit at Puerto Escondido, however don't expect a spectacular show as this is usually promoted, this is a nice place however...More

A stupendous view of the stars from the boat! Our captain explained the plankton phenomenon in Spanish- I do not think he spoke English, so you would need to book an English speaking guide if that is important to you. He gave us plenty of...More

I got to see crocodiles, iguanas, and different types of birds on a boat. It was part of a tour and definitely was different than any other tour I went on.

Ok, so maybe the title doesn't do it justice but the feeling of being in very warm water and making tracers with your hands and arms is pretty trippy. Yes, the water is baby pool warm, yes it is really, really dark, and WOW the...More

My wife and I have been on the Laguna twice. The environment is a shallow brackish mangrove swamp teeming with wildlife. There are several tour groups that offer birder's outings via comfortable fiberglass boats that seat about eight. Both times our guide was a local...More

Don‘t expect to be the only one. The lagoon gets crowded and it‘s kind of a moneymaker, but still in a good way that they take care of flora and fauna. Once you‘re on the boat it‘s much better and also swimming will be more...More

To be honest I wasn't super thrilled to do another Laguna tour on my vacation this time, as I have done a few in the past at other places. However, it was part of the package I bought into so we went. We had a...More

Hi, I did the tour with a local couple that was offering tours in the street. Sorry don't know the agencies, but the tours looked all pretty much the same. Enjoy!

I would say you can visit the lagoon year-round, it's even better during low season as there are not so many tourists. Just make sure you go when it's not full moon, the experience will be more impressive. Enjoy!
