I wasn’t expecting such a huge site in addition to the main pyramid and the remaining carvings are very intricate. The whole effect is of an enormous complex that must have been very impressive in its day.
This is another wonderfully preserved ruin within the Chichen Itza World Heritage Site worth spending time gazing upon. There are tons of pillars all around it and like the other buildings here, everything is in impressive condition.
Hundreds of 7 ft columns....many intricately carved. Site covers several acres, so it makes statement of the societal values. A site that really stirs the imagination. Aside from the historu is all the curious thoughts that come to mind. Would love to walk around it...More
Great Mayan structure that fuels the imagination! This temple is situated behind the El Castillo (large pyramid) at Chichen Itzna. The stucture once had a roof covering it. The carvings are awesome. Go to Chichen Itzna this year! What are you waiting for?
