This is a really busy part of town but I like going to Alameda Central just to relax and rest under the trees. It has an amazing monument dedicated to Benito Juárez.

Alameda Central is one of the few relatively peaceful spots to get a breather in the Centro Histórico area. It has a ridiculous amount of fountains for a park its size but also provides a lot of nice spots to sit and chill.

Its a gracious parkland providing a perch to unwind and recoup one’s stamina. Lots of poplar trees, the Spanish word is Alamo . It teems with families and lovers on weekends but during the week is a gracious reprieve from the heat and noise

We walked by this on our way trekking downtown. Its a beautiful and safe area. Take a camera, lots of great angles! They have an open market in this area to buy goodies. So much BEAUTY in Mexico!

The Alameda is a good place for a walk in the 21st Century, just as it was in the 19th. Superb people watching, ample benches, and I think that the Benito Juarez monument has been cleaned.
