Even in the low season, this beach was crowded. It looked beautiful from our respite in the hills above, and it was. However, arriving by water taxi, we were immediately bombarded with locals asking for tips for everything from lending a hand onto the dock,...More

Great Day at the beach for the kids, but very crowded. Even during low season on a weekday. If we go again, we will get there early and skip Olivio.

Las Gatas is known for restaurants and water sports but I found it to be very family oriented on Sundays. Refreshing to see families looking and talking to each other rather than being consumed by a phone.

The best part about Play Las Gatas was the boat ride over. Once there, it is extremely crowded, and there are no free places to just lay out your beach towel and relax. It was wall to wall people, and the food was over priced...More

We caught the water taxi over and took the advice from other travelers to walk the whole beach before deciding on a spot. We went with Otillia’s (red umbrellas w/ turquoise lounge chairs and pink tables) because Franco was so friendly and the lounge chair/table...More
