After running the taxi and trinkets gauntlet coming off the cruise ship we were steered towards Junkanoo beach by a gentlemen handing out Nassau maps. The beach is about 300 yards long and maybe 100 yards wide and sits between 2 old piers. The water...More

A perdect spot to swim and cool off from the day's heat after shopping along Bay St. The nice thing about this beach is the curious local food items for sale right on the beach

Walking distance from the port. The locals are friendly and serve good food and drinks. They do charge, 10 dollars to rent beach chairs. Fun and quiet beach. Clear water and just a short walk to the straw market.

Junkanoo beach. Beware if you end up at this beach and decide to swim out to the inflatable feature. Swimming around or coming in any contact with the yellow, floating, gym will result in confrontation as the floating toy is apparently private property. The owner...More
