Coming into this visitor center after visiting the North Rim, I felt like I'd entered Disneyland. People in queues everywhere . Lots of services available, but it just seems so...developed. You lose the feeling that you are in an amazing natural wonder.

Beautiful building, helpful rangers, excellent movie, a nice area to hang out, with a cafe and a large gift shop too, 5 minute walk from the rim.

Great visitor's center experience. We ducked into the movie initially just to rest weary feet and were quickly mesmerized by the experience. It's shown on a globe and kept the attention of everyone in there (and all ages were in there). Well done! The center...More

This is probably the first stop for most drive-in visitors. From the 1st parking lot, you can take a short walk to Mather Point to take in the wonderful view, and then a longer walk to the visitor center, where there's a bit of information...More

As National Park visitor centers go, this was not very informative. Much to our surprise! The Yavapai Geology Center has the information that is normally found at the main visitor center of most national parks.

This visitor center is the shuttle hub and does have two theaters if you are into watching film. Otherwise it is just a line of people waiting to ask a million questions of the few rangers there. Most info could be found on the web.

We visited the south rim, the drive up from the town of Williams was through the desert. There were quite a few places to stop and see old Indian sites. When we arrived at the rim, it was breathtaking. I've never been so awed by...More

We took a one day Grand Canyon tour from Phoenix in a very comfortable, air-conditioned bus. The tour guide was great and very knowledgable about everything including the history, geology, legends, and lore of the places and people. There were 10 of us tourists which...More

A stop you must make. This will help you understand the canyon, what to see, how to do it, and get an excellent understanding of the canyon.

You pay at the park entrance before entering any of the park. There are not any trails until after you are inside the park. There are many trails to choose from with various scenes and difficulty, so research and see which... More

Ummm...not sure about that. Look at the National Park Service Grand Canyon website for detailed info that might help answer your question.
