There are far less crowds in November, the snow hasn't set in so its great to see inside easily especially using a private tour like Anastasia where you learn the history as you go. But don't expect to see any gardens fountains or statues outside. They are removed for winter.

Amazing sights. The monuments, the fountains, so much to see, wear comfortable shoes. The little trolley is nice to get an overview. If I come again, I will do it much earlier in the day. It was so overcrowded in August.

Allow plenty of time to explore the gardens behind the palace as regrettably we didn't and feel cheated of the experience. Be there in time to see the fountains turn on, even though it only lasts for around 10 minutes, but be prepared for the crowds. However, they all disperse
