Meet your coach on Monday evening at a centrally located pickup in Sydney or Canberra, then relax as your coach winds towards the mountains while you rest or get to know your tour companions.
When you arrive around midnight, get some sleep in your shared room at the Snowy Valley Resort, then have a hot breakfast in the morning before taking the shuttle to either Thredbo or Perisher. Enjoy three days of skiiing or snowboarding midweek, when the slopes have more space with less people around. Round-trip shuttle between your resort and the slopes is provided each day. In the late afternoon on Thursday, after a day in the snow, you'll return to Canberra or Sydney by coach.
Choose to hit the snow at either Thredbo or Perisher (see details under Itinerary below). Lift tickets and equipment rental are not included, however you can purchase tickets and rent all the gear you need — including skis, poles, boots, snowboards, snow jacket and pants, helmets and more — on-site in Jindabyne or Thredbo.
Your tour includes three nights at Snowy Valley Resort, a basic resort with a friendly laid-back atmosphere and views overlooking Lake Jindabyne. Rooms are shared, with amenities that include sauna, indoor heated pool, hot tub, bar, internet access and more. Three hot breakfasts and one 3-course dinner are also included. Have fun in the friendly and festive group atmosphere facilitated by your entertaining guides, who can also answer any questions you may have during your stay.Thredbo:
From Friday Flats beginner runs to steep tree runs, board park and half-pipe, Thredbo offers something for everyone. There are plenty of challenging off-piste runs that feature powder-filled chutes and natural hits. More advanced snowboarders can try the 360-foot (110-meter) long half-pipe in Thredbo's extreme board park.
A combination of long runs and lots of vertical terrain means less time getting to and from places and more time ripping up the slopes. Thredbo guarantees that there will be snow, as it boasts the largest snow-making facilities in the Southern Hemisphere as well as the highest lift point in Australia.
Perisher offers an amazing natural experience surrounded by great Australian scenery. It has the biggest area for skiiing in the Southern Hemisphere, with options suitable for all levels, from beginner to thrill-seeking skier or snowboarder. Perisher has a range of services, such as the terrain park's 85-foot (26-meter) rail, tabletops, burns, kickers and a half-pipe designed by experts.
Accommodation is at the Snowy Valley Resort. Famous for its breathtaking vantage point above Lake Jindabyne, the resort offers lodge-style accommodation with many features and facilities. Accommodation is shared with other travelers (up to seven people); no single rooms available. Two rooms will share the same bathroom.
