It was a magnificent castle that I had wanted to see with my own eyes ever since I was a little girl. It certainly didn't disappoint me, and was an impressive place that was worth the trip all the way from East Asia.

Historic structure very well preserved & maintained. Had lots of fun exploring the castle & interesting exhibits. The views across the lake are beautiful. Easy access by bus, limited parking. Nice restaurant adjacent to castle, has souvenir shop. Reasonable admission price. A great stop while touring Switzerland.

I thought this castle was great. It’s right on the water. The castle is in good shape and there is a lot of access. The signs have English on them. I spent a couple hours walking around and looking at things. The tower is a hike up a lot of stairs but worth it.

Great historic spot and made even more memorable with people in medieval costumes, actors, dancers and musicians. A delight and the audio guides are terrific.

Very interesting Castle, information in English. Lots of steps. Cafe on your way in/out. Toilets on site. You can arrive by boat. We walked back to Montreux along the shoreline.

We arrived by boat. When we left we took a short bus ride to Montreux. The castle had one room after another that went up several levels. Cafe nearby. Interesting place.

The castle was very impressive from the outside. Inside, there were a lot of rooms to visit and sometimes it was difficult to figure out what the purpose of the room was. There was also renovation going on--and a steady rain (so perhaps that's influencing this review).

Incredible self-guided walking tour. Detailed and descriptive audio guides available so you can go at your own pace. Bathrooms inside the castle. Such a huge majority of the castle is available to view. Friendly, helpful staff. A favourite castle so fsr!

Definitely worth a visit. Went by boat came back by train. It was fun to revisit a site i had been to 43 yrs ago.

My kids had a great time exploring the place. They love to learn about the history. And we also got to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We were with a small tour group and had our own tour guide, so I can't speak to a DIY tour, although I did see signs posted throughout the castle. Our guide was interesting and informative. We had free time to wander the castle - plenty of rooms were not on our guided tour. If you're staying in Montreux, you can walk to the castle in under 30 minutes, and the way is paved, shady, and landscaped.

We enjoyed our visit to this castle. We explored on our own which was easy to do with the brochure and signage. Don’t miss the keep and all the weapons of that time. I can’t imagine how strong you would have to be to use one of them. Also the room with all the furniture chests and trunks was nice.

Great themed tour immersing yourself in medieval times. The guide walks you through the history of the castle and shares what the everyday life of a regular person and a noble person would look like, including what they would eat, drink, and do. It's a very interactive and captivating tour – an hour passed by very quickly, and I discovered a lot. Both adults and children would definitely enjoy it. After the tour, we had lunch cooked based on medieval recipes in the new café nearby and were offered the opportunity to return to the castle and explore on our own. I think it's amazing value when you consider the lunch, dessert, water, coffee, entry ticket, and the funny and entertaining tour guide (priceless!). I would totally recommend it to everyone! The only thing I would add is that I wish the food servings, plates, and cutlery were more authentic to match the medieval food on our plates. And maybe a little memorable freebie, like a medieval recipe on a scroll, would just exceed my expectations!

The Castle located just great, you can walk around as well. Quite good with the numbers of the rooms, which correspond to the guide you get. The wine from the castle is also great.
