About the operator
- brvblkbrd00Volcanos, rainbows, cookies, and caves! My Mom and I had a really fun time on this tour even though the weather conditions weren’t great. The conditions were even worse the day we initially scheduled the tour for and they did a fantastic job of reaching out to reschedule us for the following day. The communication was really appreciated. Our tour guide, Lucca, was awesome and super knowledgeable about Mt Etna, geology, and the surrounding area. He answered all of our questions and injected a little humor here and there, which was appreciated. Due to the rainy weather, we got a beautiful rainbow at one of the lookout points. Enjoying almond wine with almond cookies in the lava tube/cave was super memorable. Also, the meeting point was beautifully designed with ceiling to floor glass windows and gorgeous views. You can order a coffee, drinks, snacks, and taste and/or purchase their delicious jams and sauces. Highly recommend this tour!
- Flyer196000sunny EtnaExcellent trip with a very knowledgable guide. It was worth every penny as we gently drove up Etna stopping at various places ending up at close to the top to watch the sunset. Amazing when you are 2000metres up how much colder it is - we left Catania in the heat of 29'C to the evening cool of Etna at around 15'C - take a jacket!
- michaelnG8321FA00Great Etna excursionWe all thoroughly enjoyed our 4x4 sunset trip. Our guide, Luca, had excellent English and was full of interesting information about Etna “the mountain”. We went off road away from the crowds and saw Lava fields, lava tubes and craters all finished with a beautiful sunset. A great excursion highly recommended. Not to mention the Sicilian tasting before we went!
- jasminE8000TA00A lovely timeAn experience I will not forgot... the tour guide was kind and knowledgeable about Etna's history and geology. Further, the team were amazing, even helping us with transport and food. Conveniently, different tours were available in different languages e.g. english, french, Italian. We went around in a jeep to different locations which included Etna's caves, secondary craters and a beautiful sunset at the end in which our guide provided us with a small snack. However, despite going in August... its cold so do take a jacket!
- deboerontour00Awesome tour!We had a tour with Antonio. Very knowledgeable, very nice guide! We learned a lot about the volcano and just had a great time. We spent twelve days on Sicily, but this day was the best by far!
- Sian J00An amazing experienceThis tour was an amazing experience. Our guides Luca and Sebastian were so knowledgeable about Etna and Sicily and we learned a huge amount about the landscape and the impact that living close to Etna has on local people, both good and bad. The highlights were entering a lava tube and seeing all the new craters that have been formed over the centuries. We finished off with wine and pastries at sunset on a cloudless day - magical. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
- yqzh00Great experienceWw went to the hiking tour at Mont Etna. Our Great guide Luca who is very knowledgeable and took good care of us. We learned a lot of Mont Etna, Lava, volcano and surrounding area. The farm where we had lunch was fantastic.
- 676ollieb00The best day everAmazing - guide was fantastic, great knowledge and super friendly. We felt safe at all times and got to see loads! Would highly recommend the half day hiking with the farmers lunch at the end - bellisimo!!!!!
- Justynabt00Her Majesty Mount EtnaIt was an unforgettable experience. The tour was perfectly organised. I recommend Etna Excursion as a Tour Agency and the visit to the farm Montata Grande. Our guide, Antonio, was professional, passionate and knowledgeable. We visited, according to the tour programme old and recent lava fields, la Valle del Bove, lava tube and we could admire lateral craters. Antonio gave us detailed informations about all these places, was very happy to answer our questions. We were with our 6 years old son, he was absolutely enchanted by the landscape and the off-road ride. I appreciated the most the posibility of taking pictures during the golden hour. I fell in love with Etna, its diversity and uniqueness. Be back for sure.
- agnieszkamA6414VX00Great place for hikingWe really enjoyed tasting the regional products. Hiking on Etna was a marvellous journey, our guide told us a brief history of the volcano and has shown us beautiful sights, including a view from the side of Etna at sunset.
- Sandervdtoorn00Wonderful!We took a private Etna Grantour on 21 July 2022 with our guide, Antonio. We had an absolutely wonderful experience! With the Grantour you will do a trekking on the Etna, a jeep tour, a visit of a lava tunnel and have an excellent lunch with a selection of local products and (of course) very nice wines. Our guide Antonio was wonderful, very pleasant company and very knowledgeable about the Etna, it’s history and the local flora and fauna. Visiting Etna with a guide such as Antonio is really a must - you will see so much more that you will otherwise either miss or won’t realize is there. We can highly recommend!
- SAILexplorers00Enchanting Etna at sunsetLuca, our tour guide was hugely knowledgeable, passionate and a joy to experience 4 x4 sunset tour with. Our journey started with enjoying local food and drink at Montata Grande to a short hike in Crateri Silvestri, ending with watching the sunset in a perfect location. We highly recommend EtnaExcursion, Luca and the sunset tour to experience the best of Sicily. Bring warm clothing, its cold at the top!
- j41000Great tour with great guideWent with a friend on the sunset tour after another company didn’t show. Quick response from this company. Our guide was Luca. He was right on time for the pickup in Catania. He is very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Highly recommended.
- 226filipam00GreatWe had a great experience on the grand tour with Luca. We booked the tour last minute and they were very accommodating sorting it out for us and helping us out. Luca had a lot of information to share and a good sense of humor so the whole time was very easy going.
- S1977ACrobertac00UnforgettableOne of the highlights of our Journey to Sicily. Our fabulous guide Piera walked us on the black hills of the volcano, supplied a great lunch at the company's agritourism, and drove us on impossible roads to appreciate wonderful views. Piera is extremely knowledgeable about the volcano, local culture and history and made our experience unforgettable. I was there with my sporty son of 19 and my elderly mom of 82. Piera was able to tailor-make the visit so that it was enjoyable for everyone. I only have great things to say - I highly recommend the tour!

Pietro was the most engaging and informative guide for our little group. He led us through the history of Etna and it’s eruptions, whilst at 2000m and also to a gorgeous view of Etna, it’s craters and a lava cave. The cable car does go higher, but it’s barely noticeable when you have such an engaging guide and a 4x4! It was topped off by a tasting session of local farm produce. Highly recommended!

We opted for the half day tour with pick up/return from/to our apartment in Taormina, excellent value for money. We would thoroughly recommend Etna Excursion, brilliant service, quick responses and great communication. Sebastian (our guide) was superb, having the personal one on one guide is great but coupled with Sebastians knowledge and enthusiasm made for an unforgettable experience. Sebastians recommendation of chestnut honey from a little place in Zafferana was spot on, it is amazing! We now can’t wait to come back to Sicily and do a full day tour!

Such a fun experience! Luca was fantastic, from initial communication at the meeting point to incredible vast knowledge, patiently answering our many questions (always with ease), and ensuring that we took all the time we needed at each location. It’s clear that this is a true passion for him, and we were so lucky to soak it all in. I leave Catania with so much more respect and adoration for the culture, the volcano, and the people. We did NOT need to dress in layers as was suggested in many previous reviews, it was quite warm even in the caves. Certainly doesn’t hurt to bring a sweater to leave in the car if you’re worried. Bring lots of water, and eat breakfast before you go. 10/10! Grazie mille, Luca!

Family of five we took the tour and Luca was our guide. Almost 5 hours driving and walking on the Etna where he explained non stop about the volcano, the history and the culture of the area. It was so interesting and Luca had strong answers to all our questions. He also shared pictures and videos he took himself before, during and after the eruptions to show how this mountain (the locals prefer to call the volcano „the mountain“ changes and is alive. I wish we could have gone to the very top, but it’s been close for a few years now for safety reasons. Still, if your are in Sicily this is a must see and this operator comes highly recommended. Starting point (impossible to find without GPS 😉) is also a small restaurant and after the tour you can try so many different things, jams, oils, honeys, wines, liquors and more, followed by a good lunch and some authentic tasty souvenirs to take place. BTW noticed the whole team has a great spirit and they seem to enjoy what the are doing. Bravissimi!

On 28th of July we (2 adults, 2 children of 12 and 14 years) took part in a half day Jeep tour to mount Etna together with our English speaking guide Antonio. The tour was really excellent. In total we made five stops including a lava tube visit , a crater visit and an off-road section. Antonio was a very well informed and at the same time funny guide. We have learned a lot about geology and the history of big eruptions, the danger of exploding lateral craters at lower levels, but also about vegetation at different hights. From Antonio we also learned special sicilan habits about hand signs and the correct usage the car horn . Thank you, Antonio! You are a famous son of Catania University.

Communication upfront was perfectly fine and also pickup in Catania Center was easy to find, everything worked like a charm.
we got picked up then and were shuttled to the starting point, a lovely small agriculture. from there the tour started, we got lots of explanations and reached the 2000m high point where the cable car starts. Not for the day, but maybe in the future, from there the cable car would have taken us to 2500m allowing another 200m „footwalk“ to the highest allowed point. instead we entered the 4x4 again and followed the lava path downside. Another stop at a lava cave, some offroad fun and another photo point helped us to set perspectives on the magnitude of the vulcano. The tour was then finalized with a tasting of some agricultural products and we were shuttled back home.
all in all a great experience and a recommendation

This tour was the highlight of my holiday!! Our guide, Peter, gave us so much fascinating information, I felt like I was really learning something. Our travelling companions were friendly too and Etna itself was amazing, smoking away in the background. We were given plenty of time to buy souvenirs at the stops we made and the tasting at the end was delicious. So much so, we bought some of the produce. It was well worth the almost €140 we paid for the two of us.
The only down side was that the information stated we could get transport from Catania to the meeting point for €15, but it was not available on the day, so we had to pay €60 for a taxi. Luckily, our travelling companions were able to give us a lift back to Catania. Thank you to them!!

We had a great time! Best guide (Luca) who showed us every spot worth exploring. He could answer every question and was really passionate about guiding us to Etna. Great experience and ofcourse amazing views. Afterwards we came back to the most beautiful meating spot where we were lucky to taste the local foods. Also there we received wonderful service and ate great foods like the fried zuccini,... Must visit (also if you do not book a tour) overall greatly recommend if you want to visit Etna and get a good explanation in roughly 4 hours! (Also great driver, not to dangerous, we appreciated that)

Central location to meet from Catania centre. The company were great with small requests and making it comfort for us. The trip was the perfect amount and taking the 4x4 meant we could enjoy different things. I was set on the walking tour but glad I did the 4x4. The Etna farm was a personal highlight - would recommend the whole experience

The trip had few stages, each of them was perfect. Sebastiano was a great guide, he picked us up from our hotel on time, he was full of passion showing us this great Etna and answering our questions.
The weather was perfect. We were surprised how green the area of Etna is! She was talking to us, we heard few thunders. Very interesting tour, next time probably we will discover Etna by foot. It is very big area, full of trees.

Do you pick up in Aci Trezza?
How is that going on? How do we book the pick up?
Salve siamo in tre, attualmente a Siracusa. Ci piacerebbe fare questo tour, ma siamo dotati di scarpe da ginnastica. Non so se può essere un problema
Do you pick up in Messina? We are on a cruise ship and don't get into port until 7 am.
