This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Tekapo Star Gazing, State Highway 8 Next to the Godley Hotel, Lake Tekapo 7945 New Zealand

The ultimate in stellar relaxation, Tekapo Star Gazing is the only guided hot pools and star gazing experience in New Zealand. The tour operates from the renowned facilities of Tekapo Springs, combining the stunning Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve with our soul-warming hot pools.

Stop At: Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, Lake Tekapo 7945 New Zealand

The guided portion of the tour focuses on the mythology and legend attributed to celestial objects by different cultures around the world. If the skies do not co-operate for outdoor stargazing, an informative indoor experience is run instead, featuring the use of a high-definition projector and stunning full-color satellite images of deep space as well as interactive elements and similar fascinating and informative content as in the outdoor tour - including an introduction to our telescopes.
The second half of the tour is where it really gets magical in a 100.4-degree Fahrenheit (38-degree Celsius) hot pool, let the real world melt away as you lie back with the help of a floating hammock to ensure ultimate relaxation and easy sky viewing. While soothing music plays, feel like you are floating among the stars as you explore the night at your own pace. Your guide will be poolside during this unique star viewing experience, so if any questions come to mind or if you would like to know more about the cosmos simply ask!
Our first tour is suitable for all aged 6 and above, and our later tours are suitable for anyone aged 13 and above. Tours include complimentary transport to and from the village centre and popular local accommodation providers, with a pool wheelchair available on request.

This was one of our highlights on our trip to New Zealand. The night was perfect after a cloudy day with perfect visibility. Our guide was great and wove wonderful stories of local mythology into her talk. Highly recommend.

Super knowledgeable guide, crystal clear evening and utterly breathtaking. Completely worth the money I’ve never seen anything like this. The largest black sky reserve in the world and the Milky Way, Orion, Southern Cross ...... dumbfounding! DO IT!

A long term intention realised. And worthwhile. Overloaded with information, well organised and very enjoyable. One drawback - the hot chocolate drink provided to combat the low temperature was really just lukewarm! Can be a bit hit or miss depending on the weather and cloud...More
