This package was a good value. The bus was just ok. The speaker was not always autiable which was frustrating.

Important: I did not see this written anywhere.
Once you make a purchase for the package, the bus (only) tickets come as a QR code immediately. It is activated for the period of time you selected, and the bus driver scans the QR code. All of the other tickets have to be picked up at their store location which is only open regular business hours.

We were very happy to learn the other tickets you pick up can be used at any time. So only the “bus” tour is really on the ‘48 or 72’ hour time limit. If you are staying on the Riverwalk… you probably will only do the bus once (so 24 hours would probably be sufficient).

The tower of America was nice. We went during the day. We wanted to watch the free 4D movie (at the bottom) about TX, but accidentally went in the theater time for Wonder Woman. It was still good, about 20 min long.
The grounds around the Tower of America are beautiful. There are many water falls, etc. Plan a little time to check them out.

We made a reservation for dinner in the top of the tower (Chart House) on another night at 7:45pm which was perfect timing for the sun set and to see the city lights at dark. The restaraunt rotates inside (so you will not see it move from outside),. The rotation allows everyone eating to have a great view of the city. Dinner at the Chart House is a 3-hour event, but well worth it. About $70 per person without drinks and appitizers. If you are not eating here, you may want to use your Tower of America tickets when the sun sets.

Boat ride was good. We did it in the heat of the day tho. I wish we went around 7 pm.

We got the “super” tickets that included the Buckhorn and Texas Ranger Museam. Whixh was bigger than we anticipated. It was worth the trip.

We wish we had watched the Alamo movie in the mall, but they only showed the movie a couple of times around 12 and 2.

Have fun!

Angel was a great City sightseeing guide...cool with jokes but most of all knowledgeable. Best guide of the day to us since we got to experience several throughout the day. The boat ride guide (can't remember name ...was of Native American descent) was great as well. He kept all passengers engaged during the ride and was very animated with the narration of the ride. Manages seating of passengers upon entry! To everyone's surprise it poured down much needed rain the day of our tour!!

Took the cruise at night, much more impactful at night with all the lights and reflections on the water. We walked along the river walk before sunset and it was much more vibrant at night. Some of the restaurants have live music at night as well, adding to the experience. Plenty of places to choose from for river side dining, drinking or just people watching. The cruise was $13.50 adult and $10.50 65+. It lasted about 35 minutes and was narrated by the boat "captain" with a flair for the entertaining side. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Every city we visit, we do a sight seeing tour, and usually we think they are top notch. This particular tour was great as far as the boat cruise and tower were concerned, but not the bus tour.
First of all, when we bought our tickets for Monday, April 11, no one told us how many sites were closed on Mondays. That should be noted on your website. On top of that, when we hopped off the bus to visit a site, we weren’t told by the driver that it was closed. We didn’t discover that until we tried to get in and then noticed a sign that said “Closed on Mondays”. By that time the bus was gone.
In addition, when we got to the Alamo, we were not told that there might be a wait to get again. Once again, we got off the bus, went to the Alamo, and discovered that if we wanted to go in, it would be a 1 ½ hour wait. Of course, now the bus was gone.
Lastly, the last driver that we had, was rude. She did not announce, “if you’d like to get off to see________, this is your stop” After she passed one of the sights that we wanted to get off for, we brought it to her attention, and she very rudely said, I told you to get off if you wanted. I said, No you didn’t. She said Yes I did. My husband then said, No you did not. Then she turned around to the rest of the people in the bus and said, “Didn’t I announce the last stop?” and no one said a word. I could not believe her behavior.

Although the River cruise sights on land going by were interesting, the water was filthy as ever. Disappointed the city has not done anything to improve it since we visited years ago.
The Mexican Market was very over-priced with pottery marked “Talavera” which clearly was not, with inappropriate high Talavera prices on common painted objects.
The SAS shoes’ outlet well worth a stop with tons of stock at great prices.
Restaurants in downtown area surprisingly moderately priced.
Be aware, the area near the market and Alamo is all torn up with street construction making the expensive parking lots tricky to access.
The Alamo was wonderful, as always and worth every reasonable admission price.

Overall this bus tour was OK… it is worth the value if you actually take the whole route as you are supposed to, hopping on and off at the exact locations. The problem that I encountered was that it was difficult to figure out where the locations were. On the website they have a map, but it never could find my location, so we ended up walking around a lot. Honestly, if I were to come back, I would just walk the city because every thing was very close together. However, our bus driver, BC, made up for any lack in the experience. He is Super funny and kind. Thank you, BC!!

The combo pass can save you money if you are going to be in the area for multiple days. We used the bus to save walking time, and get out of the heat. You should go on the whole loop at least once to get an overview of the city,. The narrated bus tour tells about the sites and history along the way. After that, we used the hop on-off feature to get around quickly.
The river cruise is included. One cruise on one day is included.
The Tower of the Americas was also included in the package. One admission day is included, but you can do it more then once in that day. The view of the city and the surrounding area is good. Since the riverwalk in one level down from the street, you cannot tell where it is easily.
The real decision to or not to get this combo pass is how often you would use the buss portion. SInce we used it multiple days, it saved us some time and money.

We had an fabulous time in San Antonio and especially enjoyed the double decker “hop on-hop off” City Sightseeing tour because of our amazing Guide “Angel”. He provided great info on the history of the city but what made it so enjoyable was his great sense of humor and wit throughout the tour.

If you are planning a trip to San Antonio be sure to take in the City Sightseeing tour and if you are lucky - you will have Angel as your Guide

We took the hop on hop off tour bus with a pay for 2 days get one free pass. We had several drivers and enjoyed them all. Kat was our driver more times than the others and soon recognized us and made us feel very welcome. Along with the tour she offered great recommendations when asked as well as a couple that were included in the tour. If every face in San Antonio was as friendly as hers they would soon drop the Alamo slogan and change it to a welcoming smiley face,

We purchased tickets the end of the day Saturday, which were good until Sunday at 5:00 PM. Sunday morning we waited at 3 different locations for a total of more than an hour but no boats arrived at the stops. The boats were running doing guided tours. We even saw the driver and boat that sold us our tickets. But no one stopped at the shuttle stops. After about 8 phone calls and leaving a couple messages, we finally got thru to someone who said the shuttles would not run today because there was a chance of rain. Well tell could have told somebody! There was nothing said on the recordings, nothing on the website, nothing at any of the shuttle stops.
So, our planned day was a bust. By the time we learned they were closed it was too late into the day to make new plans because this was our main mode of transportation.
We paid for a full day (24 hour pass) and got about 10 minutes use Saturday plus we were stranded for more a couple hours.
They made no offer of any kind of refund or credit.
Avoid this unless you are able to walk when the abandon you.
Oh yeah, it never rained!
