Overview
Treat yourself to an abundance of wildlife viewing with this 3.5-hour Kenai Fjords cruise in Resurrection Bay from Seward Harbor. Travel 55 miles (round-trip) along a rugged coastline and snap plenty of memorable photos as you sail past Bear Glacier. Sail close to sea lion colonies and seabird rookeries, and keep your eyes peeled for whales, sea otters, Dall’s porpoises, eagles and mountain goats.
What to Expect
The Kenai Fjords and Resurrection Bay Half-Day Cruise travels along the rugged coastline of Resurrection Bay in search of wildlife. Rather than following a set route, this cruise travels to the best whale and wildlife viewing areas that day based on reports from other vessels. The experienced captains will explore the area’s wildlife hot spots to maximize your chances of viewing whales and other wildlife. Two departure times are available throughout the day for your convenience.

Along the route you'll have the chance to see abundant wildlife such as whales, sea otters, Dall’s porpoises, eagles, mountain goats, and many types of seabirds. As you approach the end of Resurrection Bay, you will visit Cape Resurrection, home to both Steller sea lions and thousands of nesting seabirds. The captain will stop the boat exceptionally close to the sea lion colonies and seabird rookeries, providing excellent photo opportunities

Several alpine glaciers, nestled high in the mountains surrounding Resurrection Bay can be seen along the route if the weather cooperates. You'll also have the chance to see the impressive Bear Glacier, a piedmont glacier and the largest glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.

Good boat ride

The morning started off windy and rainy on the drive to Seward as that's what it was supposed to be like all day. However, once we got to Seward the sun was out and it was beautiful! We were able to see sea otters, puffins,...More

Highlight of our Alaskan Roadtrip

I was very nervous about this trip, not a huge fan of boats and I get sea sick. We lucked out though and had amazing weather and calm waters, even then the waves once you get into the open water are choppy, I would suggest...More

As a whole it was enjoyable as far as the vessel, services on it, and the narrative. We did see some very lovely scenery, some seals and sea lions relaxing on rocks along the shore, and seabirds. However, disappointing was that the only whales we...More

I had my own car, so parked in the designated lot in front of the Harbor 360 Hotel and walked across to the hotel where the boarding area is just outside the back door (with a waiting room inside the hotel). I can't say for... More

Hi, We took the six hour tour. I think they also offer seven hour and full day tours. The time stated for the specific tour you take is pretty close to your actual time on the boat. They run a quite efficient operation.
