Lofton and Shine were excellent! My husband and I had been wanting to do a carriage ride for a while and being our third trip to NOLA we decided it was time. We began talking to Lofton about the area and instantly knew we wanted a private tour with him. The history we learned from him and the tour was exactly what we were looking for. He was great! Don’t wait, take the ride!

This is a really fun, relaxed way to see the French Quarter. Due to the pandemic, we opted for a private carriage, so it was just the 4 of us. Our friendly driver pointed out the sights of note as well as providing a bit of light history on the French Quarter. As it was unseasonably hot and muggy, our teenagers were glad to get to sit for awhile. I would totally do this again!

We rode with Blaze & Jonathan. The day was cold but they were warm and welcoming. We learned so much about the neighborhoods, and Jonathan is an excellent story teller. We had a delightful time and would recommend them and the private tour to anyone interested in covering a lot of ground and a lot of history (faster than by foot, but not rushed).

Fiona S was a phenomenal tour guide. Enthusiastic without being overbearing, informative, and generally enjoyable to be around. Chicory was hilarious with sassy attitude but sweetened up when I gave her a carrot and some pats. This is my second ride with Royal, and I’ll definitely be taking another when I’m in New Orleans again.

Our Royal Carriage tour of the French Quarter was a highlight of our NOLA trip. Jonathan and Blaze were exceptional tour guides. Jonathan gave a great narrative of the history of the French Quarter. We would definitely do it again!

Having spent most of my youth in the old city of New Orleans, I wanted my wife and daughter to see those areas that meant so much to me. I would recommend the private tour to allow all the stopping and further information this allows.
Fiona and Chicory make a wonderful team and my wife and daughter felt like old friends by the end of the tour, which my daughter declared "was too short". (It was over an hour and a half long.)

Fiona and her mule Chicory were amazing. Fiona had a lot of fun facts and was a great guide. Chicory was a bit of a prime Donna but would come around with some gentle talk from Fiona. Highly recommend.

Awesome. Lofton and his mule Shine were the absolute best. Took us all all around the French quarter and told us all the history we didn’t even know we needed to know. Highly recommend!
