Josh was a great guide who did not only share a lot history facts but also gave us restaurant recommendations and other hints to make sure we have a great stay in New Orleans. Josh was very flexible and explained whatever the group wanted to know. I definitely recommend this tour for everyone who is new to New Orleans and who wants to see a lot in the shortest amount of time.

Yvonne was our local guide who helped us navigate and learn about the place and space of the French Quarter. The pace was leisurely and covered the immediate area around the French Market and Jackson Square, but history in NOLA is as thicker than Atchafalaya honey. As the small group of 8 bobbed and weaved through the storied streets, we asked questions. She adapted the tour according to our interests, including the Free People of Color and their role fighting for Civil Rights for Black and Brown people not only in Louisiana but nationwide. Yvonne was funny, personable, and spoke slowly enough that even older people with some hearing impairment could understand. The pace was leisurely and lasted over two hours. Highly recommended. Thanks for your work, Yvonne, and for the woman-owned and operated Lucky Bean Tours.

Gosh, what a beautiful review! Thank you so much for this lovely, artistic description of Yvonne's tour. We think it is especially important (and let's face it, more interesting) to tell the lesser-known stories of the lesser-known people throughout the history of New Orleans. We have had so many innovators, fighters, artists, and culture-bearers who not only made an impression and influenced our world, but had to break out of their societal roles in order to do so. Their stories deserve to be told and we are grateful that our guests want to hear them. Thank you also for recognizing that our customization goes not only for content covered on our tour, but we also customize pace, volume, and route to the needs of our guests. Sometimes we have to repress our accents! Again, we are grateful to have guests who recognize that we are trying to accommodate everyone on the tour. Please come tour with us again - you have a writer's heart and all writers love New Orleans! Libby, the woman who owns this business

We cant speak highly enough of Libby Bolino and her tour. Her delivery is energetic and entertaining. She structures the tour to the audience, so its dynamic and interactive to the group she has with her. She is a wealth of knowledge having been a part of 8 generations of New Orleans residents. We had both of our teens with us on this tour and they were attentive to her every word (Try to get that to happen parents!)
We are a big fan of walking tours in every city that we visit. This tour was our 2nd walking tour of NOLA on this trip. The first was a Ghost/Voodoo tour the night prior, with another company, and it was very typical and touristy.

Libby's tour was 10x better. If there's only one walking tour you take in NOLA, take this one. We will surely ask to attend future tours with Libby and Lucky bean

You are making me so, so happy! Happy teens on a history tour = TEN STARS! I agree that our French Quarter is the best one to take in New Orleans, because all our tours are customized so everyone gets to understand the city better, and in turn enjoy the rest of their time here even more. Thank you so much for taking the time on your family vacation to write this review and recommend our tour. (P.S. Attentive teens = cool parents) See y'all next time! I do know some ghost stories, too! Libby

Yvonne was wonderful! So informative! She was conscientious about keeping us in the shade. I love that they keep their groups at 12 people or less so we were always able to hear the guide. She covered so many areas of the culture and it’s history. She is a native of New Orleans with generations having lived there. We learned so much. We had two children 12 and 14 with us and they enjoyed it as well. So glad we did this instead of a self guided tour. We got so much more out of our day trip. Please don’t forget to tip your guides! ;-)

Josh was a great guide who knew a lot about the history of the French Quarter. I recommend going on the tour early in your trip to allow time to check out all the great food and historic site recommendations! It was fascinating to hear the history of how the city came to be as well as the flood mitigation efforts that have come in place after hurricane Katrina. He welcomed our individual interests and answered each and every question!

Thank you for choosing Lucky Bean, asking questions on your tour, and for taking the time to write such a wonderful review! Your review is sure to attract some top-notch guests for us and we love every opportunity to talk to travelers who are interested in really getting the culture of New Orleans. Sharing the stories of all aspects of the culture of this vibrant place - music, food, Katrina, wars, architecture - is a pleasure for us. And, as a practical recommendation, I also recommend taking a French Quarter tour early in your trip here in order to plan the rest of your stay. There is so much to see and do, and Josh is great at recommending the best experiences! However, I know you didn't hit ALL the places you wanted to go, so you'll have to come back! See you then! You may think New Orleans is all about bars and drinking but this walking tour opened our eyes to the fascinating history and melting pot of this city. Our tour guide Josh was the star of the tour. He takes a genuine interest in history and it shows in his presentation. He delivers a thoughtful well planned tour of the French Quarter and was an encyclopedia of information. The tour was just the right amount of time with just enough information to not get overwhelmed. The group was small which kept everyone in the group engaged. I mostly appreciated our tour guide who used humor to keep things fun and held my interest in the history of this fascinating city. The tour was definitely a highlight of our trip. I recommend Josh for your tour if you are able to request someone! Well worth the cost!!!!

We are a group of 6 and all but one of us are here for the first time! Josh was our guide and was everything you hope for in a guide. He was friendly and personable. He was very knowledgeable and shared the history of the French quarter, the architecture, and culture of the people. Josh laughed with us (great sense of humor) and made our group feel welcomed and comfortable. He answered all of our questions and gave recommendations for things to see, places to eat, and jazz venues. The tour given by Josh was a great way to start out 5 day trip and we now have our bearings and are able to plan the next few days
Thanks Josh. We loved it. 👊👊

Super great! I’m so happy that your French Quarter tour with Josh was such a double-fist bump hit! I completely agree that a good French quarter tour from a guide like Josh is the perfect way to start your New Orleans experience. Not only do you get a good lay of the land, geographically and culturally, but you also have a friend in New Orleans that you can text during the rest of your stay for recommendations. I hope your time in New Orleans was as good as your tour with us! Please come back and let us impress you again! Libby

We booked this tour a little last minute (30 minutes before start time) due to the rain unexpectedly clearing up, and we are so glad we did! Josh was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, funny, hospitable. His passion for the city, the history and culture, was contagious and palpable. He is approachable and accommodating, so it made us all very comfortable! He knew his stuff, and we’d highly recommend a tour with him.

We had a 2 hour walking tour this morning with Peak, who was an excellent tour guide. She gave us a lot of insights into the history of jazz, the multi-national culture and history of the French Quarter and the city in general. She really knew her stuff and was very animated and professional in her presentation. We saw the main sights you expect to see in the Quarter, plus lots of other interesting places and the history behind them. The next time we’re in NOLA we look forward to trying another one of Lucky Bean’s tours.

Thank you so much for this great recommendation and review of your French Quarter tour with Peak! She is a great tour guide and guests can indeed expect to see all the famous sites - they are famous for a reason - but also those lesser-known spots that really help our guests get a deeper understanding and connection to the culture of this fascinating place. Please do come again and tour another area with us! Libby

Elliot was a FANTASTIC guide. His love of New Orleans and knowledge of her history made for a very engaging tour. We loved his enthusiasm and his focus on the music of New Orleans. He had a speaker where he played snippets of music to help tell the stories. I also asked for a pirate story and he threw that in too;) I would totally recommend this tour and especially Elliot as your guide if you love jazz music and NOLA.
